Garbage Cream
DIGITAL SURREALISM/ICE CREAM TRASH
What did you do? : Well, once the whole concept of “ Surrealism” came up in discussion I realized I had to act quickly and think of an idea. Surprisingly an idea popped in my and I wrote it down as soon as possible. My idea for this project was simple a “Ice cream” Garbage can, what an idea! I just knew this idea would work; I was so sure I couldn’t wait to get started.
Why I used the elements I did was to create a really creative effect for garbage can. How would I do that? Simple…Photoshop of course. I used the simple yet most effective way I knew how. The meaning behind this was someone’s trash is another mans treasure. I thought it would be fun if I got images off the computer to connect everything together, I also added a raccoon for a more “Garbage” type feel, And other thing that would compliment the picture.
I did what I did by thinking it through all the way getting help by taking the pictures I needed. It’s almost like the concept just came to me. The steps I took to create this picture was small yet slow steps to make sure that this picture was exactly what I wanted and what people would of liked to see. The only original photograph was the garbage including the can and the bag, and all the rest were found on Google. I blend them together by dragging and dropping the picture on the original frame and I did that a few times and that’s how it turned out.
The tools I used to make this picture possible were extracting(cut images out), color: to make the garbage can blend with the animals. I learned that it’s easy to complete a picture when you have a good thought out idea in your head. I did indeed use lighting effects and blending options also filters.
When I was finished I couldn’t believe what I had made! I was actually surprised and it felt as if I accomplished something great, I was satisfied with my work. I think if I were to change anything I would pick another subject and expand what I know to learn more. The most difficult thing was proper proportion’s and getting the lighting right. The easiest part was taking a picture of the garbage can. Overall I am happy with my results.
