(11 May 1904 - 23 Jan 1989)

Dalí's real name was Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech. He was born on May 11, 1904, and died on January 23, 1989 at the at of 84. Dalí liked These kinds of paintings and different behaviors because he thought it could draw more public attention to his artwork, and to annoy art critics. he was very serious and highly educated whose great intelligence could grasp new and challenging ideas.

Here are some modern day photos of surrealism

Racism Video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbPG-v4ttbE
This is the video I chose, it makes you think very emotionally.

The main focus of the video Is showing that race, colour and language dose not matter. Everyone is different and unique in there own way, if we all work together we can make a difference. They all join there hands together to show that we can all stop racism.

This videos point is to show that if only one person decides to stop, it will not change. If we all join together as one it will slowly stop.

Some techniques used in this video are:

.Shots: They showed mostly the heads of different race and coloured people and different eyes as they open with a sad disappointed face, along with different size and coloured hands joining together to stop racism.

.Music: The music used in this short film is depressing and is played on piano and a light humming.

.text: The text is white and bold, each different race has a different type of lettering to use there cultural text.

.Voice/Voice-over: Surprisingly there were no words used in this short film. Even without any voice this video is tremendously strong. I think with words, it may have taken some of the videos value away.

.Sound-Fx: The sound is crystal clear and very well put together along with a great message. there are no major fx used but it still works well.

I enjoyed this video, it says stop it and truly means it.

I was amazed after i saw this! it is just a extra video i found : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFO1b9I-u5Q

Optical illusions/ Optical Toys

Me and my class have started a new unit, optical illusions! One simple yet very effective illusion was called the Thaumatrope by John Ayrton paris, 1825. The thaumatrope means "turning marvel" or "wonder turner," this toy became very popular. Thaumatropes were the first of many optical toys, they continued to provide animated entertainment until the development of Animations.

It's a small disc, held on opposite sides by pieces of string. you need to draw a picture on each side of the disc, when the disc is spun the two pictures appear to become together. If you wanna spin the disc, one string is held in one hand, and the disc is turned to wind the string. Then, both strings are held, and the disc is allowed to turn.

This is a example of the Thaumatrope, this one has the illusion of a flower in a vase

Video Sequencing

Last week Our teacher told us to go see some links and we found some really cool ones, one awesome Technique I learned to use was to take not just one shot of something but to take multiple shots to make it more interesting.
A good way of sequencing is to use the video to change your perspective by using wide, long, far, close and short different angled shots.
using b-roll to make your video more eye catching is very effective it gains viewers attention, instead of filming something boring and slow, take a video of different angles.

This page has some helpful tips on photography, Link: http://lcicommtech.blogspot.com/
